You Want A Real NLP Modeling Challenge?

Written by Steve

I just posted a comment on Louis’s NLP Marketing Blog, where he mentions his soon-to-be released copywriting model.

His post actually made see a huge window of opportunity for would-be modelers.

Ever since Bandler and Grinder originally modeled Perls, Satir and Erickson, I don’t know of anyone who has undertaken a significant, authentic NLP modeling project. I’m referring here to a Deep Trance Identification modeling project, where the modeler actually suspends filters such as values and beliefs to enter the world of his modeled subject.

Let me be clear here. I said “I don’t know of anyone who has undertaken a significant, authentic NLP modeling project.” I DID NOT say it hasn’t been done. I’m not aware of any. Most NLP Practitioners seem quite satisfied with doing analytical or third-person modeling, which, in my opinion, completely misses the point.

In the context of Louis’s post, we’re talking about a copywriting model. How amazing would it be for a modeler to actually model John Carlton, Gary Halbert or Michel Fortin? Unfortunately, our second candidate recently passed away, making it impossible to do a classic modeling project. But developing a Carlton Model would be a gift to the world of copywriting, not to mention modeling.

See, this a great example of an authentic modeling project opportunity. Those are rare. I might even take it up to Carlton and model him. Get there before me!

  1. Steve - if you saw my reply to your comment on my blog, Harlan Kilstein says he’s modeled Carlton already. That’s what his second NLP copywriting seminar was about. I can’t speak to the quality of the model because I haven’t seen it but David Gordon was there at that seminar so I imagine it’s solid.
