Nooraza included something interesting in a post about NLP.
NLP provides a map of how to get from where you are now to where you want to be. [...] How fast you walk to the destination is up to you.
Read this phrase and then switch one word and notice what happens to your internal experience.
How fast you run to the destination is up to you.
How fast you rocket to the destination is up to you.
How fast you drive to the destination is up to you.
How fast you fly to the destination is up to you.
How fast you crawl to the destination is up to you.
How fast you sprint to the destination is up to you.
This is not to say that you can completely change someone’s mind or persuade by only changing one word. But what would happen if you carefully crafted a message by cumulatively choosing little words like this?
One thing is for sure. Slow flying will probably get you there a lot quicker than fast crawling.
